First is usually getting the desktop loaded and stable.
Then usually hit firefox to do some internet browsing.
I also quick start pidgin and winamp at the same time.
multi-tab open in firefox all sites I want to check open then slowly click through them.
start skype, check to see if anyone is online i want to talk to.
check torrents and/or downloads to make sure they are fine.
Watch any new anime or shows.
Check E-mail and messages.
Start the Day's work.

I cant seem to remember the last time I had this much trouble with a PC. Finally got it up and got the data off, now to just get it finished and clean before I give it back.

Otherwise not much of note going on.

Why can't shit just work? Why does it always have to be the little things? Why can't I just keep up?

Just generally frustrated at the world for now. Give it time this too shall pass.

So, registered for my next semester at Butte College. Looks like a full semester again, 15 units 3 of which are going to be learning to use the new 3-D printer at Butte. I'm really looking forward to this one, plus by the end of it I'll have my 3-D and Web Design Certificates.

So, its been a while. My life decided that I was getting a bit too much free time so it started to give me stuff to do. I've been busy since my birthday with class finals, class projects and getting peace-meal work on the side. I've basically had to squeeze in friends when I can and get my gaming in when I'm waiting on stuff.

On the upside, my web portfolio is almost ready for launch. I'm gonna have some good animations to show off here soon. I've been relearning flash, and should be A+ certified before the end of the year. All and all a good start back to school, now just to start bringing in the money. I'm hoping to get everything moving here soon. More as it gets going.

Also don't know what I'm going to do here come break, but I think I need to get away from chico for a bit.

ITS RAINING! I love this stuff.

Woke up this morning feeling good. Probably woke up a very beautiful girl in the middle of the night. And figured I'd sit down and write something. Oddly enough it doesn't feel like my birthday, it just feels like every other day.

So I find myself living with my parents in their spare room, fewer friends than last year, even less on the romantic end. I'm closer to my degree and going to be certified (and probably certifiable) by the end of the school year. Hopefully I'll have a chance to also get my degree from Chico State assuming they let me finish. I've lost touch with some people I didn't want to lose touch with, I've learn quite a bit about myself and what I really want in my life.

Overall I don't really got much more to say, here's to a better year and more to come.

So, my laptop died a horrible terrible death today. It was working fine as I waited for class, working on some homework then I moved into the classroom, it locked up, failed to respond and then crashed during a reboot boot-up. Now all it does is starting the boot, then loops when it tries to get the Ethernet card to post. I don't know what to do, and my bio is shit. Anybody got any ideas? its a Toshiba satellite with an on board Ethernet card.
[edit] It was the fact that the harddrive isn't working so its looking for another boot device. Blah not what I need.

So it's been 8.5 years since I got a new desktop. I figure now is a good time to start looking into getting setup for another 5 years of computing at least. Games coming out don't run on the beast much anymore (least not the ones I'm going to want to play) and it bogs down when I try to get into my graphics programs (3D work can really use up resources).
So I figured I'd start planning for the new machine now, since I could build myself a machine (I have the know how and the tools) I figured I'd price compare against the best I could find out there for pricing.

Figure these are about the specks I'm looking for:
Case with no god dam flashy lights (I don't like my PC to glow in the dark)
Quad Core (AMD preferred) w/ motherboard for 64 bit support
16gb ram (DDR 3 preferred)
1000W power supply (800w if I can get it really cheap)
3TB SATA HD (probably 2 1.5 TB drives)
Flop over my GeForce from the beast (1gb video card already owned)
DVD-R (with blue ray if I can swing it)
6-8 USB ports on the case (I can install more myself, but I need the slots on the case)

I'm torn between having a PC that I built myself and I know every connector on, or having somebody else make sure the board, chip, heat sink, fans, and plugs all work before it gets to me.

Won't be till end of October I could afford it anyway, but its worth looking into.

So on day 5 of my labor day weekend. Got to have some fun, got to get my homework done, got to watch quite a few movies, and got to finish all my errands. On top of that I got my comic books, my new board game, and my laptop running. Its been a productive 5 days but I'm not looking forward to jumping back into school after such a break. I get 12 hrs of school tomorrow followed by 4 days of classes before my one day off. Plus I think I've got a half dozen other things to get done in that time ( like a haircut ) but all in all a good time overall and I'm rested and ready to get moving once again.

Otherwise not much changes here. I do the same thing and have the same conversations over and over and over. I'm looking forward to being able to lock myself into a project and only surface for food and sleep. I haven't done that in a long time, and this would be a good week to do it. So might be offline, might just be not here, I'll be working (lest I hope I will).

Played around with UV texture and came up with this (its not great yet, give me time to learn the UV mapping software, its kinda odd....)
